Mrs. Linda Lou Foutch, age 77, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 10, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones. Born in Christopher, Illinois, to the late Dwight Alonzo and Mildred Cockrum Rowland, Linda lived a life defined by devotion to family, faith, and community. Her journey from Illinois to Middle Tennessee was marked by love, resilience, and a commitment to creating a home filled with warmth and joy.
Linda married Dr. Harley W. Foutch on July 25, 1970, beginning a love story that spanned more than four decades. Together, they built their life on Carol Drive in Murfreesboro, where Linda’s kitchen and garden became the heart of family gatherings. She delighted in preparing meals with fresh vegetables from the garden, and her home was always a place of welcome and comfort. Linda’s greatest joy was supporting Harley and their daughters, encouraging them every step of the way, and celebrating the love that grew within their own families.
A lifelong member of North Boulevard Church of Christ, Linda’s faith was central to her life. She lived out her beliefs through service, volunteering for Meals on Wheels and supporting her church community. Her devotion to God’s love was evident in her kindness, positivity, and determination to enjoy life despite obstacles. Linda’s strength and grace inspired those around her, and her example continues to guide her family and friends.
Linda cherished her role as mother and grandmother, finding immeasurable joy in her daughters, Michelle Rowe (Scott) and Robin Anderson (Ryan), and her six grandchildren, Caleb, Emalee Grace, Joshua, Ashlyn, Rumi Ryan, and Brady. She welcomed her daughters’ husbands with the same love she gave her own children, and she treasured seeing their homes filled with unconditional love. Her pride in her family was boundless, and her grandchildren were the light of her life.
Linda’s relationships extended beyond her immediate family. She shared a special bond with her sisters, Jane and Shirley, and enjoyed a lifelong friendship with Cheri Claybrooke, filled with laughter and fun. In her later years, she was blessed with a meaningful friendship with Aleta Daugherty, a gift she considered divinely timed. Linda will be remembered for her determination to embrace life, her love of nature, and her ability to find joy in simple moments — sipping coffee, bird watching, and waiting for flowers to bloom.
Her legacy lives on through her devoted family, siblings, and extended relatives, as well as the many friends and caregivers who supported her. Linda’s family expresses heartfelt gratitude to Muriel Glimps, Home Helpers, The Villages of Murfreesboro, and Aveanna Hospice for their care and compassion. In honor of Linda, memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels at North Boulevard Church of Christ or to The Dr. Harley W. Foutch Endowed Scholarship at Middle Tennessee State University, ensuring that her spirit of service and love continues to bless others.
Visitation with the family will be held Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. central time at Woodfin Memorial Chapel, followed by funeral services at 2:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Murfreesboro. Linda’s life was a testament to love, faith, and family, and her memory will remain a guiding light for all who were blessed to know her.
