Mr. Teddy “Ted” Louis Sibley, age 90, of Crump, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at Hardin Medical Center from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. His beloved wife, Marjorie “Margie” Blount Sibley, age 87, had departed this life just a few months earlier, on November 22, 2025, at their home in Crump, following a long illness. Together, Ted and Margie shared more than 66 years of marriage, a union marked by devotion, resilience, and enduring love.
Ted was born on December 3, 1935, in Crump, Tennessee, to Clell N. and Doris Strawn Sibley. A graduate of Central High School in Savannah, he proudly served his country in the United States Army, stationed in Alaska during the historic moment when it became the 49th state.
His professional life was dedicated to building and equipment maintenance, serving as supervisor of the 100 North Main Building, later working with Sibley Services, and ultimately retiring as equipment maintenance engineer for Southern College of Optometry. Ted was known for his strong work ethic, his loyalty, and his ability to provide stability and care for those around him.
Margie was born on October 14, 1938, in Savannah, Tennessee, to Louis Herbert and Fleda Crotts Blount. Over the years, she made her home in Savannah, Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Memphis, Tennessee, before she and Ted settled in Crump in 2000. Margie was admired for her grace, her devotion to family, and her ability to create a warm and welcoming home wherever life took her. Her presence brought comfort and joy to those she loved, and her legacy remains in the lives she touched.
Ted and Margie were united in marriage on May 23, 1959, beginning a journey together that spanned more than six decades. Their marriage was a true partnership, built on faith, love, and mutual respect. They delighted in raising their daughter, Sheri Sibley Archer, and celebrating the milestones of family life. Their bond was an inspiration to all who knew them, and their love story will remain a cherished memory for generations.
They are survived by their daughter, Sheri Sibley Archer, and her husband, David, of Crawfordsville, Arkansas; Ted’s brothers, Jack Sibley (Stephanie) of Carlsbad, California, and Tom Sibley (Marlene) of Cupertino, California; Ted’s sister-in-law, Olivia Sibley; and a host of extended family and friends who will miss them dearly. Ted was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Joann Shelton and Bobbie Tyler; and brothers Wallace and Jerry Sibley. Margie was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Paul Blount.
A joint memorial service for Ted and Margie Sibley will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 15, 2026, at Crump Cemetery, under the direction of Associated Family Funeral Home of Adamsville. Their lives in Crump were marked by devotion to family, faith, and community, and their memory will remain a guiding light for all who were blessed to know them.
