The family of Clifton G. “Guy” Jones, formerly of Norco, California and most recently residing in Wisconsin, shares with heavy hearts that he went to be with the Lord on April 13, 2026, at the age of 71. Born on October 22, 1954, in Norco, Guy lived a life marked by resilience, curiosity, and a deep love for the people who shaped his journey. His passing leaves a profound emptiness in the hearts of those who knew him, yet his memory continues to shine through the stories, laughter, and love he shared so freely.
Guy was welcomed into Heaven by his parents, Clifton M. Jones and Darla M. Horine, his brother Larry Jones, and his beloved wife Karen, who bravely fought cancer. Their reunion brings comfort to those who remain, knowing he is surrounded by the family he cherished so deeply. Guy’s life was also shaped by the enduring friendship he maintained with his first wife, Jean Linaburg Swan, a testament to his loyalty and capacity for lifelong connection.
He leaves behind a family who adored him: his daughter Desirae Jones and her partner Zac of Mesa, Arizona; his son Cody Jones of Ahwatukee, Arizona; and his treasured grandchildren Mckayla, Evan, Axton, and Emma, all residing in Arizona. He is also survived by his sister Janet Lawrence and her husband Charles of Birnamwood, Wisconsin; nephews Gregory Lawrence and Holly of Wausau, Wisconsin; Timmy Davis, Kyle Jones, and Sonny Jones of Mississippi; nieces Melissa Ramsey and Jody of Weston, Wisconsin; and Christy Jones of Bloomington, California. Many great‑nieces and great‑nephews will carry forward his memory as well.
Guy lived with a spirit of adventure. He was an explorer at heart, happiest with a fishing pole in hand or discovering new places. A graduate of Eisenhower High School in Rialto, California, he proudly served in the United States Army from 1972 to 1975. Following in his father’s footsteps, he mastered the trade of hanging drywall. His wandering spirit eventually led him to La Grande, Oregon, where he built a life and friendships that lasted more than two decades. Later, he moved to Arizona to be closer to his adult children and grandchildren, embracing every moment he could spend with them.
In May of last year, Guy suffered a stroke that left him paralyzed on his right side, yet he continued to fight with courage and determination. In October, he moved to Wisconsin to live with his sister, where he received compassionate care from Aspirus at Home.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Lynn, Diane, and Connie, who became like family during his time of need. Guy spent his final days at Compassus House of the Doves in Marshfield, Wisconsin, where nurses Kristin, Keri, Carmen, and Beth showed him extraordinary kindness and compassion. Their care brought comfort and peace to both Guy and his loved ones.
Cremation will take place at Brainard/Helke Funeral Home in Weston. A funeral service will be held at Restoration Church in Birnamwood, Wisconsin, with Pastor Joshua Weix, a trusted shepherd and friend, officiating at a date to be determined. Guy’s ashes will be laid to rest in La Grande, Oregon, beside his late wife Karen and his father, Cliff Jones. This final act of love will be carried out by his daughter Desirae and his dear friend Chipper, honoring the places and people that shaped his life’s journey.
