Patricia “Patti” Palczewski — lovingly known as Grandmommy — passed away peacefully at her home in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, on the evening of Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 10, 2026. Surrounded by the love of her family, she departed after years of courageously facing the devastating progression of Alzheimer’s disease. She was 77 years old, and her life was a testament to resilience, devotion, and unconditional love.
Born on May 16, 1948, in Dover, New Hampshire, to Joseph Leroy Chandler and Edna Mary (Brennan) Chandler, Patti carried a spark of tenacity from her earliest days. That spirit guided her through life’s challenges and joys, shaping her into a woman who embraced family, faith, and community with unwavering dedication. Her journey from New Hampshire to Tennessee was marked by a deep commitment to creating a home filled with warmth and welcome.
Patti’s greatest joy was her family. Known affectionately as Grandmommy, she poured her heart into nurturing her children and grandchildren, offering them not only guidance but also a boundless supply of love. Her home in Murfreesboro was a place of comfort, laughter, and togetherness, where family traditions were cherished and memories were made. Even as Alzheimer’s slowly took its toll, her essence remained present in the love she shared and the bonds she strengthened.
She was admired for her strength and perseverance, qualities that carried her through life’s trials and inspired those around her. Patti’s ability to face adversity with grace and courage left an indelible mark on her family and friends. Her legacy is not only in the memories she created but also in the lessons she imparted — to live with kindness, to endure with faith, and to cherish every moment with loved ones.
As we mourn Patti’s passing, we also celebrate the remarkable life she lived in Murfreesboro. Her memory will forever remain a guiding light for her family, who will continue to honor her by living out the values she embodied. Though she is no longer with us, the love she gave and the strength she showed will endure for generations. May she rest in eternal peace, and may her family find comfort in knowing that Grandmommy’s spirit lives on in their hearts.
