Darrin G. Stanke, age 59, passed away on April 3, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, passion, and devotion to family. Born in Wausau, Wisconsin, to John and Marlene Stanke, he was raised in Bevent and went on to earn his degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Wisconsin–Platteville. On November 5, 1994, he married Jenny (Tepp) Stanke in Bevent, beginning a life together filled with love, adventure, and shared purpose.
Darrin built a respected career in the construction industry, contributing significantly to bridge building across the upper Midwest. His work reflected both skill and dedication, and he retired in 2022 after decades of service. Retirement allowed him to fully embrace his passions—cars, camping, and sporting pursuits—interests that defined much of his life outside of work.
Cars were a lifelong love for Darrin. Known in the Mopar community as the “Godfather of A12,” he restored two 1969 Dodge A12 Superbee’s to OEM condition, including a one‑of‑a‑kind floral top model. His restorations won numerous awards and are now displayed in museums. Later, he enjoyed modern Mopar vehicles, proudly owning a Hellcat and Demon Challenger. His expertise, attention to detail, and friendly demeanor made him a beloved figure among enthusiasts.
Camping became another passion after a family trip to Glacier National Park in 2005. What began as hesitation turned into a tradition of annual adventures, with Darrin and Jenny traveling to 33 National Parks across the country, often with their children joining. He also loved hunting and sporting clays, serving in leadership roles at the Wausau Skeet & Trap Club, including President and Vice President.
Above all, Darrin prioritized his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Jenny, and his children, Zach, Andrea, and Grace. He was preceded in death by his father, John Stanke. His Celebration of Life will be held on April 11, 2026, at St. Therese Catholic Church, beginning with an engine rev tribute at 9:50 AM, followed by Requiem Mass at 10:00 AM and lunch in the church basement. Darrin will be remembered for his generosity, his wisdom, and the joy he brought to those around him.
